As the end of the transition period approaches Pulsar Measurement has been carrying out a review of its activity to ensure that we are as well prepared as we can be for the new trading arrangements with the EU and Northern Ireland. We have been actively monitoring the information provided by the UK Government and seeking to take action based on such information as is currently available. Many of the details of our future relationship with the EU are not yet settled but what is clear it that trading with the EU after the end of the transition period will be similar to trading with other nations worldwide in that the movement of goods across borders will become imports and exports.
Pulsar has been trading overseas for many years and so we have the necessary procedures in place to treat our transactions with EU in the same way as other imports and exports. We would encourage our EU customers and partners to make sure that they understand that they will be importing goods from the UK into the EU when receiving goods from Pulsar and should seek advice from their local Chamber of Commerce or similar institution if they are unsure of the implications after 01/01/21.
We believe that the greatest risk of disruption to supply comes from the possibility of delays at Ports and Airports due to the increase in customs declarations that will need to be made following the transition. As a result we have been analyzing our stock levels or critical items in order to minimize any possible disruption to our customers.
This is an ongoing process, but please be assured that we are monitoring the latest announcements and looking for ways to mitigate against any discontinuity of production and supply as we move into 2021.
